Our Cookie Policy

Last updated on June 16, 2026

This cookie policy is part of Light Dropper’s Privacy Policy. It covers the use of cookies and similar technologies between your device and this site. The Privacy Policy may also provide basic information on third-party services that may be used, which may also use cookies as part of their service; this policy does not cover their cookies.

This website uses cookies and similar technologies to help improve your experience of the website at www.lightdropper.com.

If you don’t wish to accept cookies from us, you should instruct your device and browser to refuse cookies from www.lightdropper.com, and/or you should not use this site. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the site function.
What is a Cookie?
A cookie is a small piece of data that a website stores on your device and accesses each time you visit, in order to recognize your device and understand how you use the site. Cookies can be “first-party” (set by the site you are visiting) or “third-party” (set by another service the site uses). They can last only for the duration of your visit (“session” cookies) or persist for a set period (“persistent” cookies). This policy also covers similar technologies, such as local storage, described below.
The Cookies We Use
The specific cookies on this site may change over time as we update the site and the third-party tools we rely on. Rather than list every individual cookie, we describe below the general categories and purposes of the cookies and similar technologies used. Some cookies are set by us directly (“first-party”), and others are set by third-party services we use, such as analytics providers, embedded forms, and content delivery networks (“third-party”).
Analytics Cookies
We use analytics services, including Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga) and collects usage information including pages visited, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser details, and how you interact with the site, such as scrolling, clicks, site searches, and any files you download. This data is processed by Google on our behalf; see Google’s Privacy Policy for how they handle it. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by blocking cookies in your browser.
Functional and Third-party Cookies
Some features of the site rely on third-party tools that may set their own cookies. For example, when you submit feedback or a lighting setup through a form on the site, the form provider may set cookies needed to operate that feature, prevent spam, or remember your input. If you create an account or set preferences in the future, we may also use first-party cookies necessary to keep you signed in and remember your choices. These cookies support functionality rather than tracking you across unrelated websites, and the specific cookies set are controlled by the providers of those tools.
Cookies Not Listed Here
Because the site uses third-party tools and is updated over time, cookies may occasionally be set that are not specifically described in this policy. Such cookies are generally used for analytics, functionality, security, or content delivery. You can review and manage all cookies stored on your device at any time through your browser settings, and you can set your browser to refuse some or all cookies.
The Work You Create: Local Storage
To make the tool convenient, Light Dropper saves your in-progress work in your own browser using local storage, so that your session can be restored when you return. This information stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings or by using the in-tool Reset. Local storage is a separate technology from cookies, but we describe it here so you have a complete picture of what is stored on your device.
Third-party Content Delivery
The site loads software libraries from third-party content delivery networks. As with any web request, these providers may receive your IP address in order to serve the files, and they may set their own cookies in accordance with their own policies.
